Market Square is home to a large variety of specialty stores, fashion, and services with Harris Scarfe, Lincraft and JB Hi Fi being some of the major tenants. Westfield Geelong opposite Market Square is Geelong's biggest mall with hundreds of stores including Myer, Target, Big W and dozens of specialty shops, cafes and food court. The complex is even linked over Yarra Street by an overhead skybridge.
For bargain lovers the huge stocktaking sales are in January and July while huge side walk sales take place throughout the city on Melbourne Cup day, the first Tuesday in November. Much of the town gets in on the festivities and customers make a great start to their Christmas shopping.
Outside the city cosmopolitan Pakington Street, Belmont's High Street and the huge Corio Shopping Centre and Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre are also very popular.
